Edgar Allen Poe
I recall reading poems about Edgar Allen Poe in middle school. He was best known for his tales of mystery and the macabre, Poe was one of the earliest American practitioners of the short story and is considered the inventor of the detective-fiction genre. He is further credited with contributing to the emerging genre of science fiction.

A Streetcar Named Desire
I enjoyed reading "A Streetcar Named Desire". I will definately have to rent and watch the movie. The only part I didn't like about it is when Stanley raped Blanche, his sister-in-law. Then they had her commited from her nervous breakdown.

Pronto Call
Our Pronto call only had 3 participants on April 7th, but I still enjoyed our conversation. I think I might have told the whole story of Babylon Revisited. I really enjoyed that story by F. Scott Fitzgerald.

The Man Who Was Almost a Man-Richard Wright
I enjoyed reading this story. I had no idea that the author was an African American. Richard Wright was the first major African American novelist to make his mark in the twentieth century, achieving both commercial and critical success. His success paved the way for other black writers to flourish, including Ralph Ellison and James Baldwin. His realistic portrayal of black Americans’ lives injected an otherwise overlooked and silenced viewpoint into the nation’s social and literary consciousness.

This past Saturday, we celebrated my older brother's 50th birthday party. There was close to 200 people in attendance, including relatives from my hometown of Milwaukee,WI. We had a blast, and people are still talking about the party. My sister-in-law did a great job.
